To limit the number of nodes displayed on the topology map, you can use the features described below:
Filtering by device status
To filter objects on the topology map by device status:
You will see a list containing the names of statuses for known devices (Unauthorized, Authorized, and Archived) and the Unmanaged switch status for unmanaged switches.
The topology map will display only those nodes that have the selected statuses.
Filtering by device security state
To filter objects on the topology map by device security state:
You will see a list containing the names of security states for devices (OK, Warning, and Critical).
The topology map will display only those nodes that represent devices with the selected security states.
Filtering by device category
To filter objects on the topology map by device category:
You will see a list containing the names of categories for known devices, as well as an individual category for unmanaged switches.
The topology map will display only those nodes that represent the selected categories of devices.
Filtering by VLAN ID in topology settings
To filter objects on the topology map by VLAN ID in topology settings:
You will see a window containing a field for entering VLAN IDs.
You can specify several identifiers separated by comma or as a range (for example: 1, 2, 4-6, 8
).
The topology map will display only those nodes whose topology settings include ports with the defined VLAN IDs.
Enabling and disabling the display of nodes that do not have links to other nodes
By default, the topology map displays all nodes regardless of whether they have links to other nodes. If necessary, you can disable the display of all nodes that do not have links with other nodes on the topology map.
To enable or disable the display of nodes that do not have links to other nodes:
Use the Display unlinked nodes toggle switch in the toolbar located above the topology map.
Resetting the filter settings
You can reset the defined node filtering settings to their default state.
To reset the defined filter settings on the topology map:
In the toolbar located above the topology map, click Default filter (this button is displayed if filter settings have been defined).
