Install browser extensions
To use Kaspersky Password Manager features in a browser, you must install the Kaspersky Password Manager extension for the browser. Kaspersky Password Manager uses the extension to autofill online forms, automatically sign you in to websites, and quickly save new bank cards, addresses, and accounts for websites.
After you create a main password, the application prompts you to install the extensions for browsers you want to use with Kaspersky Password Manager.
Close all browsers before installing the Kaspersky Password Manager extensions.
Install Kaspersky Password Manager extensions
In the Install browser extensions window, do one of the following:
- Click the Install button next to the browsers you use most frequently.
The application installs the browser extension automatically. If you are installing the Microsoft Edge extension, the Microsoft Store opens in your default browser. The Microsoft Edge extension can be downloaded and installed only from the official store.
In Mozilla Firefox the built-in password manager is turned off automatically. In Chrome, Vivaldi, Brave, Comodo Dragon and Yandex.Browser, the built-in password managers can't be turned off automatically. If you select Chrome, Vivaldi, Brave, Comodo Dragon or Yandex.Browser, a window opens to guide you through the process of turning off the built-in password manager. Follow the instructions in the window to turn off the built-in password manager.
- If you want to skip the installation of extensions, click Install later.
The main application window opens.
After you install the extensions, Kaspersky Password Manager prompts you to protect your passwords saved in browsers and transfer them to a safe vault.
Transfer passwords to a safe vault
In the Passwords are unsafe in browsers. Protect them now window, do one of the following:
- If you want to store your passwords securely, click Move passwords.
The application will copy the 10 passwords for most popular websites from the browser to your vault. You can transfer other passwords when you sign in to websites or in the Kaspersky Password Manager settings.
- If you don't want to transfer passwords now, click Do not move.
The main application window opens.
