Uploading storage media

To upload storage media to Kaspersky Research Sandbox:

  1. Prepare a Disc Image File (ISO) in the ISO 9660 format that you want to upload to Kaspersky Research Sandbox as storage media, or use the storage media that contains one the following operating systems: Windows XP SP3 (or later), Windows 7, Windows 8.1 x64, or Windows 10 x64 (not higher than 1909 version).

The maximum size of the storage media that can be uploaded to Kaspersky Research Sandbox is 100 GB.

The ISO file name will be displayed as the storage media title after upload.

The ISO file name must contain only alphanumeric characters (letters and numbers), -, _, ., and parentheses.

The application does not allow you to change the storage media title from the web interface. To change the title, you will have to rename the ISO file and upload it again.

  2. On the Templates & StorageStorage media tab, click the Add button.

The Add storage media pane opens.

  3. Select an ISO file that you want to upload, in one of the following ways:
    • Click Select the file link and in the window that opens, select the required file.
    • Drag and drop the required file to the drop zone. The drop zone is displayed when you start dragging a file.

When the file is selected, its name and size (in gigabytes) are displayed.

  4. Enter a brief description for the storage media in the Description field.

You can add or change the description at any time later, if necessary.

  5. Click the Add button.

Since ISO files are usually large, their upload to Kaspersky Research Sandbox can be time consuming. Upload processes are displayed on the Add storage media pane.

If you want to upload another file, please wait for the previous upload process to complete.

When you attempt to leave the page in your browser and navigate to another web-site while an upload process is still running, the standard confirmation message appears. If you click the Leave Page button, the storage media upload process will fail. If you navigate to another Kaspersky Research Sandbox page, the upload process stops.

When the file is successfully uploaded, it is displayed on the Storage media tab on the Templates & Storage page and is ready to be mounted to the templates. You can delete the storage media or edit its description later.

Also, you can upload a storage media when editing template parameters.
