Configuring rules for moving devices to administration groups

To manage the Kaspersky Security solution using Kaspersky Security Center, you need to place SVMs and protected virtual machines into administration groups. If you are using a Linux-based Integration Server, you also need to place the devices on which the Linux-based Integration Servers are installed in an administration group.

An administration group is a set of client devices combined according to some criterion for the purpose of managing the devices in the group as a whole.

Before installing the Kaspersky Security solution, you can create administration groups in Kaspersky Security Center for devices with Kaspersky Security components, and configure rules to automatically move client devices to these administration groups.

If rules for moving devices to administration groups are not configured, after installing the solution components, Kaspersky Security Center places devices with installed Kaspersky Security components detected on the network in the Unassigned devices list. In this case, you need to manually move SVMs, protected virtual machines and devices on which the Linux-based Integration Servers are installed to administration groups.

You can configure the rules for moving virtual machines to administration groups using the Kaspersky Security Center Administration Console or using Kaspersky Security Center Web Console (for more details, see the Kaspersky Security Center Help of the relevant version).

You can use tags when creating rules for moving SVMs and virtual machines with Light Agents to administration groups. SVMs and protected virtual machines on which Kaspersky Security Center Network Agent is installed automatically relay information about tags to Kaspersky Security Center.
