Changing the priority of rules

Each rule has a priority, which corresponds to the position of the rule in the table of rules. Kaspersky NGFW applies rules in the order they appear in the table, from top to bottom. If the package matches the criteria specified in the rule, the action specified in the rule is applied to the package. The packet is not matched against the rules further down the table. More specific rules must come before the more general rules, otherwise the more specific rules will not work.

To change the priority of a rule, do one of the following:

• Drag and drop the rule to a new position in the table.
• Click the name of the rule. This opens a window; in that window, in the General section, specify a new value for the Priority setting.
• Select the check box next to the rule and click Edit. This opens a window; in that window, in the General section, specify a new value for the Priority setting.
