Editing a security profile group

You can edit previously created custom security profile groups.

You cannot edit the default security profile group.

To edit a security profile group:

  1. In the main menu of the Open Single Management Platform Console, go to the Application & Services → NGFW section.
  2. Select the Objects tab, then select Security profile groups.

The table of security profile groups is displayed. You can use the search and filtering functions in the table to find the profile groups you need.

  3. Do one of the following:
    • Click the name of the security profile group.
    • Select the check box next to the security profile group that you want to edit, and in the upper part of the workspace, click the Edit button.

This opens the profile group editing window.

  4. Make the necessary changes. For a description of security profile group settings, see Creating a security profile group.
  5. If you want to change how security profiles are used:
    1. Set the toggle next to a security engine to On or Off to enable or disable it in the profile group.
    2. If necessary, for an enabled security engine, you can change its security profile. To do so, you can select an existing security profile from the drop-down list, or create a new profile by clicking the Create button and select the new profile from the drop-down list.

Consider the following when configuring security profiles for a security profile group:

    • In a security profile group, you can enable one or more different security engines.
    • You can select only one security profile for each enabled security engine.
    • You can add the same security engine profiles to multiple security profile groups.
  6. Click the Save button in the lower part of the pane to save profile group settings.
  7. Apply the OSMP policy changes by clicking the Commit and push button.

The profile group settings are modified in the table of profile groups. You can add this profile group to a security rule with the Inspect action.

After you edit the settings, the old settings of the security profile group remain applied to the currently open sessions whose traffic has triggered the profile. To new sessions, the security profile group is applied with the new settings.
