Creating a service

The maximum number of services in the list is 4096. When this limit is reached, a warning is displayed.

To create a service:

  1. In the main menu of the Open Single Management Platform Console, go to the Application & Services → NGFW section.
  2. Select the Objects tab, then select Services.

This opens the table of services.

  3. In the upper part of the workspace, click the Create button.

This opens the window for creating a new service.

  4. In the Name field, enter a name for the new service.

The name of the service must be unique among all services.

The maximum length is 128 characters.

  5. If necessary, in the Description field, enter an arbitrary description of the address.

The maximum length is 256 characters.

  6. In the list of protocols, click Create.
  7. Select a protocol from the drop-down list of protocols.
    • If you have selected TCP or UDP as the protocol, specify the source and destination ports, if necessary. To do this, select Single to specify a single port, or Port range to specify a range of ports.
    • If ICMP is selected as the protocol, select the type and code of the ICMP packet from the drop-down list.
  8. Click Create.

The new protocol with specified parameters is added to the table of protocols for the service.

  9. To add other protocols, repeat steps 4 through 6 of these instructions.

For each service, you can specify up to 500 protocols with parameters.

  10. After adding all necessary protocols, click Create in the lower part of the workspace.

The new service is added to the list of services.

Now you can use the created service in security rules, decryption rules, and local event filters.
