This section describes new features and enhancements in the latest version of Kaspersky Scan Engine.

What's new in version 2.0

Updates functionality (including providing anti-malware signature updates and codebase updates), as well as KSN functionality will not be available in the software in the U.S. territory from 12:00 AM Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) on September 10, 2024 in accordance with the restrictive measures.
Option to add new instances of Kaspersky Scan Engine to an existing cluster during installation.
Tool that allows checking the integrity of Kaspersky Scan Engine components.
Systemd unit files for Kaspersky Scan Engine GUI service, HTTP mode, and ICAP mode.
Syslog support for HTTP mode and ICAP mode.
Option to specify the maximum depth of nested archives to be unpacked during scanning in HTTP mode and ICAP mode.
Option to use one connection between the server and the client to send multiple requests in HTTP mode and ICAP mode.
Change to the default values of the ScannersCount and ThreadsCount elements in HTTP mode and ICAP mode. Now, the default value of ScannersCount is 4 and ThreadsCount is 8.
HTTP mode only:
- API method to receive information about KSN
- Support for HTTPS (TLS)
- Options for the HTTP client: --ca-path, --ca-cert, --cipher, --check-period, --check-subject, --check-chain,--repeat-timeout, --quiet, --threads, and --measure
- Support for Cross-Origin Resource Sharing
ICAP mode only:
- Init script command status to show the status of the kavicapd service
- Option to enable Partial mode (also known as Data Trickling), which allows the scanning of files as a whole and partially sending them to a user before the scan is finished
- Additional headers HTTPClientIpICAPHeader, HTTPUserNameICAPHeader, and VirusNameICAPHeader that enable a more thorough configuration
- Option to specify the addresses that Kaspersky Scan Engine uses to process requests in the request mode and responses in the response mode
- Option to perform certain actions when Kaspersky Scan Engine receives the SIGUSR1 or SIGUSR2 signal
Kaspersky Scan Engine GUI:
- Cluster settings page that allows you to manage Kaspersky Scan Engine instances that are part of a cluster
- Syslog setting
- HTTP mode only:
- ICAP mode only:
  - Partial mode (Data Trickling)
  - Addresses that Kaspersky Scan Engine uses to process requests and responses: request mode and response mode address
  - Additional headers that enable a more thorough configuration
  - Settings to manage the actions that must be performed when Kaspersky Scan Engine receives the SIGUSR1 or SIGUSR2 signal
