Self-Defense in Kaspersky Endpoint Security 10 for Windows

The Self-Defense mechanism in Kaspersky Endpoint Security 10 for Windows protects the application against malware that may attempt to block or remove it.
Self-Defense prevents:
- Application, quarantine and trace files from being modified or deleted.
- System registry logs and memory processes from being modified or deleted.
- Application processes from being managed by a remote computer.
On 64-bit operating systems, only protection against the modification and deletion of application files and system registry logs is available.
How to enable or disable Self-Defense
Modifying the settings locally may be unavailable if the application is working under a policy that does not allow it. To learn how to modify application settings that are controlled by a policy, see this article.
Self-Defense in Kaspersky Endpoint Security 10 for Windows is enabled by default. To manage Self-Defense:
- Open Kaspersky Endpoint Security 10 for Windows.
- Go to the Settings tab.
- Select Advanced Settings.
- Select or clear the Enable Self-Defense check box.
- Click Save.
The Self-Defense settings will be saved.
