The Kaspersky Endpoint Security icon in the tray provides access to the context menu and the main window of the graphical interface of the application.
In some operating systems, the default application icon may be missing after installing the application graphical interface package.
The context menu of the application icon contains the following items:
Kaspersky Endpoint Security 12.3 for Linux. Opens the main application window, which displays the protection status of a device and contains interface elements that provide access to the application functions.
Exit. Exits the application graphical interface.
The main window of the application graphical interface
To open the main application window, do one of the following:
Select the application name in the application menu of the operating system window manager.
Right-click or double-click the application icon in the notification area of the taskbar.
The main graphical interface window of the application is divided into several parts:
The upper part of the main window displays the protection status of the device. Clicking the View button opens the Protection Center window. This window displays information about the protection status of a device and recommendations on the actions to be performed to fix protection problems (if any).
Under Scan, the Malware Scan task status and the number of detected threats are displayed. Clicking here opens the Scan window. In this window, you can start and stop theMalware Scan, Critical Areas Scan and Container Scan tasks. Also, you can view reports for these tasks.
Under Update, the status of the Update task is displayed. Clicking here opens the Update window. In this window, you can start the Update and Rollback tasks. Also, you can view reports for these tasks.
The lower part of the main window contains the following elements:
The lower part of the main application window displays information about the license and the key, as well as about licensing problems (if any). Clicking on this area of the window opens the Licenses window, which displays detailed license information. Clicking the Purchase a license button in this window opens the Kaspersky online store, where you can purchase a license. After purchasing a license, you will receive an activation code or a key file, which you must use to activate the application.
Managing the graphical interface requires the rights of the Administrator (admin) role. Parts of the graphical interface may not be available to users with other roles.
