Scheduling tasks

To schedule group tasks using the Administration Plug-in:

  1. In the Kaspersky Security Center Administration Console tree, expand the Managed devices node.
  2. Select the group that the protected device belongs to.
  3. In the results pane, select the Tasks tab.
  4. Open the Properties: <Task name> window in one of the following ways:
    • Double-click the name of the task.
    • Open the context menu of the task name and select the Properties item.
  5. Select the Schedule section.
  6. In the Scheduled start drop-down list, select startup parameters:

    Fields with schedule settings for the On-Demand Scan and Update tasks are unavailable if scheduling of these tasks is blocked by a Kaspersky Security Center policy.

    • Every N hours if you want the task to run periodically every few hours; enter the number of hours in the Start interval (h) field.
    • Every N days if you want the task to run periodically every few days; enter the number of days in the Start interval (days) field.
    • Every N minutes if you want the task to run periodically every few minutes; enter the number of minutes in the Start interval (min) field.
    • Weekly if you want the task to run on a certain day of the week; also specify the time when you want it to run.
    • Monthly if you want the task to run on a certain day of the month; also specify the time when you want it to run.
    • Once if you want to run the task once at the specified date and time.
    • Manually if you want to run the task manually.
    • At application start, if you want the task to run every time Kaspersky Industrial CyberSecurity for Nodes starts.
    • When new updates are downloaded to the repository if you want the task to run every time when updates are downloaded to the repository.
    • On virus outbreak if you want the task to run if a virus attack is detected.
    • On completing another task if you want the task to run upon completion of another task.
    1. Specify the time for the first task start in the Start time field.
    2. In the Plan for field, specify the date when the schedule starts.

      After you have scheduled the start time, date and frequency of the task, the estimated time for the next start is displayed.

      Go to the Schedule tab and open the Task settings window. In the Next start field in the top of the window, the estimated start time is displayed. Each time you open the window, this estimated start time is updated and displayed.

      The Next start field displays the Blocked by policy value if Kaspersky Security Center active policy settings prohibit scheduled local system tasks from starting.

  7. Select the Run missed tasks check box to enable the start of skipped tasks.
  8. If the Use automatically randomized delay for task starts check box is selected, the task is not run strictly on schedule, but randomly within a certain interval, that is, the start times of the task are spread out.
  9. Click Advanced to configure the following schedule settings in accordance with your requirements:
    • Turn on devices by using the Wake-on-LAN function before starting the task. If the check box is selected, the operating system of the computer is given a specified lead time to complete startup before the task is run. The default lead time is 5 minutes.
    • Shut down the devices after completing the task. If the checkbox is selected, the devices will be turned off after the task is completed.
    • Stop the task if it runs longer than. If the checkbox is selected, the task will be stopped if it runs longer than the specified time.
  10. Click OK.
  11. Click the Apply button to save the task start settings.
