Configurations of devices categorized as network equipment

The current version of the application lets you get the Network devices configuration type for the following devices:

• Cisco IOS™ devices.
• Siemens SCALANCE series with SSH protocol support.
• Moxa PT series.

  Configuration retrieval capabilities for Moxa PT series devices are not supported when the device is in default setup mode (MENU mode).

• Eltex MES series.

For the configuration type Network devices, you can specify the following configuration components for receiving data:

• Users.
• ARP table items.
• Platform version.
• Executable processes.
• Startup configuration.
• Running configuration.
• Routing table.
• MAC table.
• Network interfaces.

Retrievable data on users

If the Users configuration component is specified for the configuration control job, the user account data on a device is read when the device is scanned (for those network devices on which retrieval of user data is supported). The application lets you receive the following data on each user account:

• For Cisco IOS™ devices:
  • Username in the format domain\username.
  • Unique ID of the user.
  • Indication of whether an SSH key is set up.
  • Indication of whether a password has been configured.
  • Indication of whether a secret has been configured for the user.
  • User privilege level.
• User data retrieval is not supported for Siemens SCALANCE devices.
• User data retrieval is not supported for Moxa PT devices.
• User data retrieval is not supported for Eltex MES devices.

Retrievable data on ARP table items

If the ARP table items configuration component is specified for the configuration control job, the data on ARP table items on a device is read when the device is scanned (for those network devices on which retrieval of data on ARP table items is supported). The application lets you receive the following data on each table item:

• For Cisco IOS™ devices:
  • IP address.
  • Hardware address.
  • Name of the network interface or adapter.
  • Hardware address type.
  • Entry type.
• For Siemens SCALANCE devices:
  • IP address.
  • Hardware address.
  • Name of the network interface or adapter.
  • Hardware address type.
  • Entry type.
• ARP table item data retrieval is not supported for Moxa PT devices.
• For Eltex MES devices:
  • IP address.
  • Hardware address.
  • Name of the network interface or adapter.
  • Hardware address type.
  • Entry type.

Retrievable data on the platform version

If the Platform version configuration component is specified for the configuration control job, the data on the device hardware platform version is read when the device is scanned. The application lets you get the operating system version as part of the device hardware platform version data.

Retrievable data on running processes

If the Executable processes configuration component is specified for the configuration control job, the data on currently running processes on a device is read when the device is scanned (for those network devices on which retrieval of data on running processes is supported). The application lets you receive the following data on each process:

• For Cisco IOS™ devices:
  • Unique ID of the process.
  • Process name.
• Retrieval of data on currently running processes is not supported for Siemens SCALANCE devices.
• Retrieval of data on currently running processes is not supported for Moxa PT devices.
• Retrieval of data on currently running processes is not supported for Eltex MES devices.

Retrievable data on the startup configuration

If the Startup configuration component is specified for the configuration control job, the data on sections of parameters of the startup configuration of a device is read when the device is scanned. The application lets you receive the following data on each section of parameters:

• For Cisco IOS™ devices:
  • Name of the parameter section.
  • Textual representation of section parameters.
• For Siemens SCALANCE devices:
  • Name of the parameter section.
  • Textual representation of section parameters (output of the info command at different nesting levels).
• For Moxa PT devices:
  • Name of the parameter section.
  • Textual representation of section parameters (output of the show startup-config command).
• For Eltex MES devices:
  • Name of the parameter section.
  • Textual representation of section parameters (output of the show startup-config command).

Retrievable data on the running configuration

If the Running configuration component is specified for the configuration control job, the data on parameter sections of the current device configuration is read when the device is scanned (for those network devices on which retrieval of data on the running configuration is supported). The application lets you receive the following data on each section of parameters:

• For Cisco IOS™ devices:
  • Name of the parameter section.
  • Textual representation of section parameters.
• Retrieval of data on parameter sections of the running configuration is not supported for Siemens SCALANCE devices.
• For Moxa PT devices:
  • Name of the parameter section.
  • Textual representation of section parameters.
• For Eltex MES devices:
  • Name of the parameter section.
  • Textual representation of section parameters.

Retrievable data on the routing table

If the Routing table configuration component is specified for the configuration control job, the data on routing table items on a device is read when the device is scanned (for those network devices on which retrieval of data on routing table items is supported). The application lets you receive the following data on each table item:

• For Cisco IOS™ devices:
  • Interface name or IP address.
  • Destination subnet.
  • Destination subnet mask.
  • Gateway (address of the next router in the remote network).
  • Protocol.
• Retrieval of data on routing table items is not supported for Siemens SCALANCE devices.
• Retrieval of data on routing table items is not supported for Moxa PT devices.
• For Eltex MES devices:
  • Interface name or IP address.
  • Destination subnet.
  • Destination subnet mask.

Retrievable data on the MAC table

If the MAC table configuration component is specified for the configuration control job, the data on MAC table items on a device is read when the device is scanned (for those network devices on which retrieval of data on MAC table items is supported). The application lets you receive the following data on each table item:

• For Cisco IOS™ devices:
  • VLAN number.
  • MAC address.
  • Type of MAC address.
  • Port to which the MAC address is assigned.
• Retrieval of data on MAC table items is not supported for Siemens SCALANCE devices.
• Retrieval of data on MAC table items is not supported for Moxa PT devices.
• For Eltex MES devices:
  • VLAN number.
  • MAC address.
  • Type of MAC address.
  • Port of MAC address.

Retrievable data on network interfaces

If the Network interfaces configuration component is specified for the configuration control job, the data on network interfaces on a device is read when the device is scanned (for those network devices on which retrieval of data on network interfaces is supported). The application lets you receive the following data on each network interface:

• For Cisco IOS™ devices:
  • Description.
  • Indication of whether the network interface is enabled.
  • MAC address.
  • Name.
  • Indication of whether the network interface is a physical interface.
  • Assigned IP address.
• Retrieval of data on network interfaces is not supported for Siemens SCALANCE devices.
• Retrieval of data on network interfaces is not supported for Moxa PT devices.
• For Eltex MES devices:
  • Description.
  • Indication of whether the network interface is enabled.
  • MAC address.
  • Name.
  • Indication of whether the network interface is a physical interface.
