Open the main application window

Purpose of the main application window

In the main window of Kaspersky Internet Security, you can view information about the status of computer protection, status of File Anti-Virus and Web Anti-Virus, and progress of virus scan and update tasks.

In the main application window, you can also do the following:

• Manage virus scan tasks and update tasks.
• Manage application keys.
• Open Protection Center.
• View news about Kaspersky Internet Security and protection against computer threats in general.
• Open the Safe Money window.
• Open the Parental Control window.
• Open the Privacy window.
• Sign in to your My Kaspersky account or go to My Kaspersky.

Controls of the main application window

The main application window includes the following controls:

• Protection status indicator (in the shape of a computer)
• Buttons at the bottom of the main application window
• Buttons in the bottommost pane of the main application window

The protection status indicator signals the current computer protection status.

• Green indicates that computer protection is at an optimal level.
• Yellow and red warn of the presence of various problems related to the configuration and operation of Kaspersky Internet Security.

In addition to the protection status indicator, the right pane of the main application window describes the computer protection status, displays the latest computer security issues and threats reported by Protection Center, and Kaspersky Lab latest news and recommendations.

You can perform the following actions by clicking the buttons at the bottom of the main application window:

	Open the scan tasks window: Quick Scan, Full Scan, and Custom Scan.
	Open the Update window.
	Open the Privacy window.
	Open the Safe Money window.
	Open the Parental Control window.

You can perform the following actions by clicking the buttons in the bottommost pane of the main application window:

	Open the window where you can sign in to My Kaspersky. If you have already signed in to My Kaspersky, clicking this button opens My Kaspersky in a browser window.
	Open the Licensing window.
