Launching Anti-Theft functions via SMS commands
If your device is lost or stolen you can launch Anti-Theft functions remotely via SMS commands from the Kaspersky Internet Security interface on another device. To send an SMS command, you must know the secret code for Kaspersky Internet Security on your device.
If SIM Watch is enabled on the lost device, you will get the new phone number when your SIM card is replaced on the device. The number will be sent to your alternate phone number specified in Anti-Theft settings. Use the new phone number to launch other Anti-Theft functions on your device.
You can use SMS commands to launch Anti-Theft functions on your device if a SIM card is inserted in your device. Outgoing SMS commands are billed according to the data plan for the mobile device that sends the command.
To launch Anti-Theft functions remotely on the lost device via SMS commands:
- Open Kaspersky Internet Security on the other device.
- In Kaspersky Internet Security's main window , tap
> Anti-Theft.
- Enter the apps' secret code.
If you forget the secret code, you can recover it.
- Tap Send SMS commands.
- Tap Send SMS command now. Then create a command and send it to your device. When creating an SMS command, use the secret code to Kaspersky Internet Security for the device that receives the command.
If you send Full Reset command, once all data has been removed and the device has been reset to factory settings, it will no longer be able to receive and execute remote commands.
You will receive a command execution report in a text message reply.
