Activating the app

A process of giving effect to a license that allows you to use a fully-functional version of the application until the license expires.

Free version

A version of Kaspersky Internet Security that is distributed free of charge. The free version of Kaspersky Internet Security has limited functionality.

Kaspersky Security Network (KSN)

An infrastructure of cloud services that provides access to the Kaspersky Lab database with constantly updated information about the reputation of files, web resources, and software. Use of data from Kaspersky Security Network ensures faster responses by Kaspersky Lab applications to threats, improves the performance of some protection components, and reduces the likelihood of false positives.

License

A time-limited right to use the app, granted under the End User License Agreement.

My Kaspersky

A one-stop online resource for remote management and licensing of Kaspersky Lab applications, downloading application installation package to devices, and getting technical support. An account is required to sign in to My Kaspersky portal. You can create an account when registering on My Kaspersky portal or use your existing account credentials if you are registered with other Kaspersky Lab resources.

My Kaspersky account

A user account that is required for signing in to the My Kaspersky portal as well as to use the portal and certain Kaspersky Lab applications. You can create the account when registering on My Kaspersky portal. This account can also be used to access other Kaspersky Lab resources.

Premium version

A version of Kaspersky Internet Security distributed under a license with a limited term. The functionality of the premium version of Kaspersky Internet Security is not limited. The license term is limited. When the license term ends, Kaspersky Internet Security reverts to the limited functionality of the free version. To continue using the premium version of Kaspersky Internet Security, the license must be renewed.
