KasperskyOS Starter Kit SDK

To start working with the KasperskyOS Education Kit, you need to deploy the KasperskyOS Starter Kit SDK on a host.

The KasperskyOS Starter Kit contains the following:

System requirements

  1. Operating system: to install the KasperskyOS Starter Kit and to run examples, you need Debian GNU/Linux® "Stretch" operating system, version 9.4.
  2. Processor: must support the x86-64 instruction set.
  3. RAM: it is recommended to have at least 4 GB of RAM for convenient use of the build tools.

Installation

The KasperskyOS Starter Kit is included with the KasperskyOS Education Kit, which can be downloaded here.

The KasperskyOS Starter Kit is shipped as a DEB package. You are advised to use the GDebi package installer to install the KasperskyOS Starter Kit.

To deploy the package using GDebi, run the following command with root privileges:

gdebi <path-to-deb-package>

The package will be installed in /opt/KasperskyOS-StarterKit-<version>.

For convenient operation, you can add the path to the KasperskyOS Starter Kit tools binaries to the PATH variable. This will allow you to use the tools via the terminal from any folder:

export PATH=$PATH:/opt/KasperskyOS-StarterKit-<version>/toolchain/bin

Removal

To uninstall the KasperskyOS Starter Kit, run the following command with root privileges:

apt-get remove kasperskyos-starterkit

All installed files in the /opt/KasperskyOS-StarterKit-<version> directory will be deleted.
