POSIX support limitations

The KasperskyOS Starter Kit includes a set of libraries (libc, libm, libpthread) that ensure partial compatibility of developed applications with the POSIX family of standards.

However, for security purposes, several interfaces declared in POSIX are not supported in KasperskyOS.

• The process cloning infrastructure is completely absent.
• Shared memory is absent. The mmap family of functions has been implemented but these functions work only with the local memory of the process (entity). Instead, there is a mechanism for quickly transmitting a large amount of data via IPC.
• Mapping of files into memory is absent. Instead, a file is read and written to the local memory of the process (entity).
• Of all possible signals, only timer signals have been implemented.
• Signals cannot interrupt system calls (Call, Recv, Reply).
• There is no interprocess transmission of signals.
• Command-line tools are not supported by default.
