Minimum hardware requirements

• 8 CPU cores

  If the application is installed on a computer running Rocky Linux 9.4 or Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.4, the CPU must support the x86-x64-v2 instruction set.

• 16 GB of RAM
• 200 GB available on the hard drive to install application and store temporary files and log files

Software requirements

Software requirements for installing KSMG:

• Rocky Linux 8.10 or 9.4
• Ubuntu 22.04 LTS or 24.04 LTS
• Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.10 or 9.4
• Debian 12 Bookworm
• RED OS 7.3, 8.
• Astra Linux Special Edition 1.7 (protection level "Smolensk"), with operational update 1.7.6 (BULLETIN 2024-0830SE17), 'generic' kernel.
• Astra Linux Special Edition 1.8 (protection level "Smolensk"), with operational update 1.8.1 (BULLETIN 2024-0905SE18MD), 'generic' kernel.

Software requirements for corporate LAN computers (to use SSO authentication for the application web interface):

• Windows 10 (22H2)
• Windows 11 (23H2)

Software requirements for configuring Kerberos or NTLM authentication using the SSO technology and for integration with an LDAP server:

• Windows Server 2016 Standard
• Windows Server 2019 Standard
• Windows Server 2022 Standard

KSMG supports integration with Postfix and Exim mail servers. The mail server version must be at least 3.5.8 for Postfix and at least 4.95 for Exim. KSMG on Astra Linux Special Edition supports integration only with the Exim mail server from the exim4-daemon-heavy package (with dlfunc support) version 4.96.15 or later from the repositories supplied on the installation disk or the disk with a cumulative update of the operating system.

KSMG supports integration with the Nginx web server version 1.14.1 or later that is pre-installed in the operating system. We recommend using version 1.23 or later. To install KSMG on Astra Linux Special Edition, the minimum required version of the Apache web server is 2.4.57.

KSMG supports updating databases without an Internet connection through Kaspersky Security Center. All computers on which you want to update databases through Kaspersky Security Center must have Kaspersky Security Center Network Agent version 15.1.0.20748 installed.

One of the following browsers must be installed on the computer of the application administrator:

• Mozilla™ Firefox™ 127.0.2 or later
• Microsoft Edge® 129.0.2792 or later
• Google Chrome 129.0.6668 or later

All computers on which you plan to install KSMG must satisfy the following conditions:

• The operating system must have the en_US.UTF-8 locale installed.
• The sudo, less packages must be installed.
• When installing KSMG on Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Rocky Linux, or RED OS, the libxcrypt-compat package must be installed.
• Time synchronization must be configured in the operating system settings and the same time zone must be set.
• When installing KSMG on Astra Linux Special Edition, the Apache web server (minimum version 2.4.57) must be installed from the certified repository for the BULLETIN 2024-0830SE17 cumulative update (operational update 1.7.6) or BULLETIN 2024-0905SE18MD (operational update 1.8.1).
• When installing KSMG on Astra Linux Special Edition, if you want to use PostgreSQL from the operating system instead of PostgreSQL from the KSMG distribution kit, install the postgresql package from the Astra Linux Special Edition repository.

To record events in syslog and CEF format, you need to configure Syslog so that it can receive 65 KB messages and support high-frequency logging of events.

These system requirements guarantee that KSMG will have a peak throughput of 10 messages per second with an average message size of 300 KB. The actual performance of the application depends on the processor model and its clock rate. To increase throughput, you are advised to increase virtual machine resources or deploy several virtual machine images and distribute the stream of email messages among them while creating the appropriate record on the DNS server, or use network load balancing services.
