Step 6. Selecting a database management system

This step is displayed only when installing KSMG on Astra Linux Special Edition.

At this step, you can select which PostgreSQL database management system you want KSMG to use: the one from the application installation package or the one provided by the operating system.

Using the operating system PostreSQL may be necessary to meet the certification requirements. In that case, you must first install the PostgreSQL package.

If you want to use the default values, press Enter for each setting.

To select a PostgreSQL instance:

  1. Enter the number for the option you want to use.
    • INTERNAL to use the PostgreSQL from the application package.

      This is the default option.

    • EXTERNAL to use the PostgreSQL provided by the operating system.

If you are installing KSMG on Astra Linux Special Edition 1.8, if you select this option, configure PostgreSQL for Astra Linux Special Edition 1.8 after installing the application.

  2. Press Enter.
  3. If you selected the EXTERNAL option, review the automatically detected database management system settings:
    • If everything is correct, confirm the configuration by entering the number for 'Yes'.
    • If the detected settings are incorrect:
      1. Enter the number corresponding to Change utility path.
      2. Enter the path to the psql utility and press Enter.
      3. Enter the path to the pg_ctl utility and press Enter.
      4. Confirm the configuration.
    • If the database management system settings could not be determined automatically:
      1. Enter the path to the psql utility and press Enter.
      2. Enter the path to the pg_ctl utility and press Enter.
      3. Confirm the configuration.
