Configuring delegation attribute loading

If a personal user has access to group mailboxes, you can configure the information about messages in group mailboxes placed in Backup to be displayed in the user's personal Backup. To do this, the administrator must specify a group of Active Directory users, which have full access to the group mailbox, in the value of an Active Directory attribute, and then specify that attribute in the LDAP server connection settings in KSMG. KSMG keeps the value of the specified attribute in the LDAP cache and uses this association to grant access to information about group mailbox messages in Backup to personal users.

This functionality is available only if the user has the Edit settings permission.

To configure the loading of the Active Directory delegation attribute into the LDAP cache:

  1. In the application web interface window, select the SettingsExternal servicesLDAP server connections section.
  2. Select an existing LDAP server connection or configure a new connection.
  3. In the LDAP server connection creation or editing window, under Use delegation attribute, select the delegation attribute in which the LDAP user group with full access to the group mailbox is specified:
    • msExchDelegateListLink.
    • Custom AD attribute.

    You can select both attributes.

  4. If you selected Custom AD attribute, in the Custom AD attribute field, specify the name of the attribute that you want to use, for example, extensionAttribute1.
  5. Click Add.

Loading of the delegation attribute into the LDAP cache is configured.
