Kaspersky Small Office Security for personal computers and file servers

Kaspersky Small Office Security for personal computers and file servers protects personal computers running a Microsoft Windows operating system and file servers running a Microsoft Windows Server operating system against computer security threats.

To install the application, you are advised to use the installation package downloaded from the Kaspersky Small Office Security Management Console portal. In this case, the application will automatically be activated and connect to the Kaspersky Small Office Security Management Console portal when it is started for the first time.

If you use an installation package received by other means (for example, downloaded from the Kaspersky Lab website), you must manually activate the application with an activation code and connect it to the Kaspersky Small Office Security Management Console portal using a Kaspersky Small Office Security administrator account.

To install Kaspersky Small Office Security:

  1. Run the executable file of the installation package downloaded from the Kaspersky Small Office Security Management Console portal:
    • If you are installing the application to an employee's personal computer, run the executable file of the installation package for Kaspersky Small Office Security 5 Personal Computer on the computer.
    • If you are installing the application to a file server, run the executable file of the installation package for Kaspersky Small Office Security 5 File Server on the computer.

The application will be installed to the personal computer together with browser extensions that ensure safe use of the Internet. Otherwise, installation to a file server and to a personal computer is performed the same way.

  2. On the first step of the Setup Wizard, click the Install button.
  3. During the installation process, you must accept the terms and conditions of the End User License Agreement. If you do not accept the terms and conditions of the End User License Agreement, you must cancel installation of Kaspersky Small Office Security and you must not use the application.
  4. You can participate in Kaspersky Security Network. To do so, agree to the terms and conditions of the Kaspersky Security Network Statement by clicking the Accept button. If you do not consent to the terms and conditions of the Kaspersky Security Network Statement, click the Decline button. Installation of the application continues.
  5. In the final window of the setup wizard, make sure that the Start Kaspersky Small Office Security check box is selected and click the Finish button.

When installation completes, the application is automatically activated and connects to the Kaspersky Small Office Security Management Console portal.

If Microsoft Windows 10 RS 2 is installed on the personal computers of your employees, you can set Kaspersky Small Office Security as your default anti-virus application by using group policies in Windows.
