Starting and stopping tasks in Kaspersky Security Center

In Kaspersky Security Center, you can start or stop the task at any time irrespective of the selected task run mode.

To start or stop a task through Kaspersky Security Center:

  1. Open Kaspersky Security Center Administration Console.
  2. Do one of the following:
    • Select the Managed devices folder in the console tree if you want to start or stop a task created for virtual machines belonging to all administration groups. In the workspace, select the Tasks tab.
    • In the Managed devices folder of the console tree, select the folder with the name of an administration group if you want to start or stop a task created for virtual machines included in this group. In the workspace, select the Tasks tab.
    • Select the Tasks folder in the console tree if you want to start or stop a task created for one or several virtual machines.
  3. In the list of tasks, select the task that you want to start or stop.
  4. Do one of the following:
    • If you want to start the task, right-click to open the context menu and select Run.
    • If you want to stop the task, right-click to open the context menu and select Stop.

In addition to starting and stopping the Virus Scan task, you can also Pause and Resume the task. You can configure the Virus Scan task to be automatically paused at a specified time.

To configure automatic pausing of the Virus Scan task through Kaspersky Security Center:

  1. Open Kaspersky Security Center Administration Console.
  2. Do one of the following:
    • Select the Managed devices folder in the console tree if you want to pause a task created for virtual machines belonging to all administration groups. In the workspace, select the Tasks tab.
    • In the Managed devices folder of the console tree, select the folder with the name of an administration group if you want to pause a task created for virtual machines included in this folder. In the workspace, select the Tasks tab.
    • Select the Tasks folder in the console tree if you want to pause a task created for one or several virtual machines.
  3. In the list of tasks, select the virus scan task for which you want to configure automatic pausing and open the Properties: <Task name> window by double-clicking.
  4. In the properties window of the virus scan task, select the Settings section in the list on the left.

    The task settings will appear in the right part of the window.

  5. In the Security level section, click the Settings button.

    The Virus Scan window opens.

  6. In the Virus Scan window, on the Additional tab, in the Pause operation section, select the By schedule check box and click the Schedule button.

    The Pause operation window opens.

  7. In the Pause operation window, in the Pause task at and Resume task at fields, specify the time period (in HH:MM format) during which the virus scan task should be paused, and click OK.
  8. Click OK in the Virus scan window.
  9. Click the Apply button.
