Editing the list of virtual networks for SVMs

At this step you can change the virtual networks that SVMs use to connect to virtual machines and the Kaspersky Security Center Administration Server.

Changing the list of networks on SVMs results in the creation of new network adapters. This could change the IP address of an SVM.

To edit the list of utilized networks:

  1. Select the Change the list of virtual networks check box.

The window displays a table containing the following information about SVMs selected for reconfiguration:

    • Hypervisor
    • SVM name
  2. If you have selected SVMs deployed on VMware ESXi, Citrix Hypervisor (Citrix XenServer), Microsoft Windows Server (Hyper-V), KVM, Proxmox VE, R-Virtualization, or HUAWEI FusionCompute CNA hypervisors for reconfiguration, for each SVM in the Network name column, specify the name of the virtual network that the SVM must use to connect to other virtual machines and the Kaspersky Security Center Administration Server.

You can specify one or more virtual networks available on the hypervisor. To add or remove a field for selecting virtual networks, use the buttons to the right of the network selection field.

If you intend to use dynamic IP addressing (DHCP) for all SVMs, the network settings will be received from the DHCP server via the first virtual network in the list of networks specified for each SVM. Make sure that the Wizard can connect to the SVM with the network settings of the first virtual network received from the DHCP server.

If the virtual infrastructure uses the VMware Distributed Virtual Switch component, you can specify a Distributed Virtual Port Group to which the SVM will be connected.

  3. If you have selected SVMs deployed on a Nutanix AHV hypervisor for reconfiguration, in the Network name and type for each SVM select the virtual network to be used by the SVM to connect to virtual machines and the Kaspersky Security Center Administration Server.

Protection of the virtual infrastructure on the Nutanix Acropolis platform is supported only in the following Kaspersky Security updates: 5.1.1, 5.1.2, and 5.1.3.

The type of network is designated as follows:

    • (unmanaged) – an unmanaged virtual network (network settings cannot be configured using hypervisor tools). In this network, an external DHCP server assigns IP addresses to virtual machines.
    • (dynamic IP addressing) – a managed virtual network with dynamic IP addressing. In this network, a DHCP server configured on the hypervisor assigns IP addresses to virtual machines. IP addresses are assigned within the specified pool of IP addresses.
    • (static IP addressing) – a managed virtual network with static IP addressing. In this network, IP addresses are assigned to virtual machines manually within the limits of the subnet specified in the hypervisor settings.

You can specify one or more virtual networks available on the hypervisor. To add or remove a field for selecting virtual networks, use the buttons next to the network selection field.

Proceed to the next step of the wizard.
