Preparing the virtualization environment
To prepare the virtualization environment,:
- Make sure that the hypervisors use modern CPUs that support the SSE 4.2 instruction set.
Hypervisors with older CPUs are not suitable for deploying Rocky Linux 9.5 virtual machines.
- Make sure that the software version of the hypervisors satisfies the software requirements for deploying a Rocky Linux 9.5 virtual machine. If necessary, update the virtualization software to a supported version.
- If VMware EVC mode is enabled in the VMware vSphere cluster settings, set the compatibility level to at least Intel "Nehalem" Generation.
- Make sure your virtual infrastructure has sufficient resources to deploy new virtual machines.
