Anti-phishing is a new feature of Kaspersky Security 8.0 for Microsoft SharePoint Servers MP1 designed for protection of user's personal data against theft.

By checking links against a list of phishing URLs, the application is able to detect links leading to fraudulent sites.

A phishing scan of SharePoint web parts detects phishing URLs embedded in the text of web parts. Phishing links take users to fraudulent websites designed to steal private data or details entered in a web form. Phishing links take users to fraudulent websites designed to steal private data or details entered in a web form. The application performs a phishing scan when a SharePoint web part is created or modified. If the phishing scan detects at least one URL appearing on lists of phishing URLs, the application assigns the Phishing status label to the web part.

On detecting a phishing URL in a SharePoint web part, the application performs the action configured for Content filtering. If the action is set to Block, the application shows a dialog saying that web content cannot be created or modified.

To protect a SharePoint server against phishing, Kaspersky Security 8.0 for Microsoft SharePoint Servers MP1 uses the list of URLs classified by Kaspersky Lab as phishing URLs. The URL database is constantly updated and included into the Kaspersky Security 8.0 for Microsoft SharePoint Servers MP1 distribution kit. You can use the Kaspersky Security Network service for additional protection of a SharePoint server against phishing. It uses cloud computing technology that provides up-to-date information about threats before they have been included in Kaspersky Lab anti-phishing databases.

To enable Anti-Phishing scanning of web content:

  1. In the Administration Console tree, select and open the node corresponding to the SharePoint server. Then select the On-access scan node.

  2. On the General tab, in the Content filtering section, select the Scan content of SharePoint web parts for phishing check box.

Kaspersky Security 8.0 for Microsoft SharePoint Servers MP1 scans web content for phishing URLs if Content filtering is enabled (Enable Content filtering check box is selected) and scanning of SharePoint web parts is enabled (Scan SharePoint web parts check box is selected).

  3. Click Save.
