If during the installation of Kaspersky Internet Security 2014 you receive the message “The selected folder or drive already contains files. The application cannot be installed”, then manually delete the Kaspersky Lab installation folder the following way:

  1. Open Windows Explorer by pressing Windows Logo + E on your keyboard.
  2. Click the C: Drive.
  3. Click the Program Files (x86) folder (if this folder is not present, click the Program Files folder).
  4. In this folder, delete the folder Kaspersky Lab
    • Right-click the Kaspersky Lab folder.
    • In the context menu select Delete.
    • In the Delete Folder window click Yes to delete the folder.

  1. Try to install Kaspersky Internet Security 2014 once again.

What to do if the solution did not help

If the recommendations given above did not help, run the KAVremover utility (a special removal tool to uninstall Kaspersky Lab products) and reboot the system before trying to install the application once again.

If the issue persists, contact Kaspersky Lab Technical Support via the My Kaspersky service and give a detailed description of your problem in your request. For the information on how to use the service, see the FAQ for My Kaspersky page.
