Cannot initialize the snap-in error in the MMC console

Sometimes the Cannot initialize the snap-in error may occur when starting the Administration console or switching between the groups of managed computers.

To eliminate the issue, remove the CS Admin Kit and Kaspersky Security Center files in the following folder:

  • Windows Vista, 7, 2008: С:\Users\<user_account>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\MMC\ 
  • Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\<user_account>\Application Data\Microsoft\MMC\   

Note: If the mentioned folders do not contain these files, try to find them with the standard search.

All the data on client's computers, groups, tasks and policies will be preserved. 

If the recommendations did not help to eliminate the issue, create a request in CompanyAccount. Attach the Administration Console trace files collected during the reproduction of the issue as well as files search results to the request.
