Cannot initialize the snap-in error in the MMC console

The article refers to all versions of Kaspersky Security Center 10.

When starting the Management console or when switching between the groups of managed computers, the "MMC cannot initialize the snap-in" error may occur:

MMC cannot initialize the snap-in.


To fix the issue: 

  1. Close Kaspersky Security Center 10.
  2. Delete the Kaspersky Security Center 10 file with no extension from the folder: <system_disk>:\Users\<user_account>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\MMC\  

If the files are not present in the folder, use the standard search to find it.

Information about managed computers, groups, tasks and policies will be saved.  

If the issue persists, send a request to Kaspersky Lab technical support through Kaspersky CompanyAccount.
