Scanning the computer for vulnerabilities is one of the most important tasks in ensuring its security. Scanning your computer for viruses discovers malicious code that for some reason has not been intercepted by security components. Vulnerability Scan assesses the security of software installed on the computer and prevents the penetration of exploits.

With the Idle Scan mode in Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2015, all resource-intensive tasks, such as file scanning or database update, are performed only when you are not using your computer.

Tasks do not start when the computer is running on battery power.

The following tasks can be performed when the computer is idle:

  • Automatic updates of anti-virus databases and application modules.
  • Scanning of system memory, startup objects, and system partition.

Idle Scan tasks start if the system has been locked by the user or if the screen saver has been displayed for five minutes.
