How to activate a subscription license for Kaspersky Total Security if I am using a regular license

On a computer that is currently using a regular Kaspersky Total Security license (without the Auto-Renewal, or Subscription option), you will encounter the following error message if you try to add a subscription activation code as a reserve one: "The entered code cannot be saved as a new one."

An activation code that refers to Auto-Renewal (subscription) license cannot be added as a new (reserve) code if your current license is a regular one, without the subscription option. If you add an Auto-Renewal license by all means, the remaining days of your previous license's term will not be added to the license term of your new license. However, you can still use your regular license by activating Kaspersky Total Security on another computer with your previous activation code.

To add a new subscription license:

  1. Open Kaspersky Total Security.
  2. In the lower right part of the window, click License.

To add the new subscription license for Kaspersky Total Security, open the Licensing window

  1. In the Licensing window, click the button next to the Key line.

  1. In the Attention dialog box, click Remove key.

Remove the current license for Kaspersky Total Security

  1. Click Activate application.

To add the new subscription license to Kaspersky Total Security, click Activate the application

  1. At the Enter activation code step, enter the activation code you received on license renewal. The activation code must be entered from the keyboard in Latin letters only.
  2. Click Activate.

Enter the activation code you received on license renewal and click Activate

  1. The activation wizard will connect to the Kaspersky Lab server and download a license key file. Click Finish.
  2. Your subscription license has been activated. Information about the license is available in the Licensing window.
