  • Kaspersky Security 10.1.1 for Windows Server
  • Kaspersky Security 10.1.0 for Windows Server

Disk I/O usage optimization feature of the Database update task allows the application to allocate a certain amount of RAM for storing the downloaded update files. This reduces the load of the disk subsystem and the operating system. The option is disabled by default.

The feature has the following limitations:

  • The amount of RAM allocated to the task must be at least 600 MB. 512 MB is the volume set by default, so you need to change it to 600MB manually. In case allocated RAM is insufficient, the update task will be completed with a file operation error.
  • The volume of RAM allocated for the task must not exceed the available volume. Otherwise, the task will fail to start. The system audit log will have the following entry: “Internal application error occurred. Error code: 0x800705AA. Subsystem code: 0x1 (Windows)”. In such case, allocate less RAM for the disk subsystem optimization feature in the task properties.
