How to enable or disable Self-Defense in Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2016

Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2016 features the Self-Defense component that protects the application from malware and ensures its stable operation. In some cases, you may need to disable Self-Defense (for example, to delete large trace files).

To enable or disable Self-Defense, do the following:

  1. Open the Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2016 settings.
  2. If the access to the program is password-protected, enter your password in the Settings window, select the Save password for current session check box and click Continue.

  1. In the Settings window, go to the Additional section and click Self-Defense in the right frame.

  1. In the Self-Defense settings window, select or clear the Enable Self-Defense check box.

  1. In the Attention! dialog, click the Continue button.

Confirm the selected settings.
