Kaspersky Fraud Prevention 5.0 for Endpoints protects your computer against attacks on DNS requests as follows:

  • Protects DNS requests against IP address substitution (checks if the IP address matches the domain). If the application detected a DNS request substitution, you will see a notification that prompts you to allow requests to the site or disable DNS request control.
  • Traces changes to the HOSTS file and the corresponding System Registry key. If the application detects changes, it runs a domain and IP address checkup.
  • Disinfects the HOSTS file in case of malicious changes. After the process is completed, the application sends statistics to Kaspersky Fraud Prevention Web Console.

Please note. The application does not handle HOSTS files exceeding 4 MB in size.
