Kaspersky Free is a free application designed to protect your computer against malicious programs. Each type of threat is handled by a corresponding application component. Kaspersky Free comprises: 

  • File Anti-Virus, Which protects files on the computer.
  • Mail Anti-Virus, which checks inbound and outbound mail for viruses and other malicious programs.
  • Web Anti-Virus, which intercepts and blocks scripts on websites should they pose a threat to your computer. With Web Anti-Virus enabled, all traffic is controlled and dangerous websites are blocked automatically.
  • IM Anti-Virus, which maintains security while using instant messaging applications.
  • Anti-Phishing, which checks whether web-addresses are on the list of phishing websites.
  • System Watcher, which rolls back the changes made to the operating system by malicious or other activity of applications.
  • Network Attack Blocker, which monitors inbound network traffic for activity that is typical of network attacks. 
  • On-Screen Keyboard, which prevents malefactors from intercepting information that the user enters with a standard external keyboard.

How to start using Kaspersky Free

  1. Download and install the application on your computer.
  2. Update antivirus databases.
  3. Check the status of your computer’s protection and scan your computer for viruses and other malicious programs.

Activation and renewal of Kaspersky Free

You do not need an activation code for Kaspersky Free. It is renewed automatically.

We recommend upgrading to Kaspersky Internet Security, a more advanced solution which includes several other protection features. You can also switch to a trial version of Kaspersky Internet Security before buying a license. You will not have to download or install a new application to start using Kaspersky Internet Security.
