This article concerns Kaspersky Security Center 10 Service Pack 2 Maintenance Release 1 (version 10.4.343.0).

Policies allow you to centrally configure applications and the Network Agent on client devices. Use the policy for the Administration Server to specify settings for secondary Administration Servers.

Each policy has the status:

  • Image: Active policy status — active policy
  • Image: Inactive policy status — inactive policy

You can create multiple policies for an application, but only one may be active at a time.

Each setting in a policy has a lock attribute:

  • If the setting is locked, then the value specified in the policy will be applied to the application on client devices. The value of locked settings can only be changed via the policy.
  • If the setting is unlocked, then the application will the use the value that has been specified locally on each client device. The values of settings can be changed in the application itself.

A policy is assigned to an administration group and is applied to:

  • Client devices in that administration group.
  • Client devices in a nested administration group.
  • Client devices in administration groups of a secondary Administration Server which belongs to that administration group.

We recommend assigning client devices to groups as it allows you to assign all the devices in a particular group the same protection settings.

Information about each policy is located:

  • In the Policies tab of each administration group in the Managed devices node.
  • In the Policies section for all administration groups.

You can create or change policies. The diagram shows how the policy is being applied. When the diagram changes to green, it means the policy has been applied to all client devices.
