How to roll back to the previous version of Kaspersky Anti-Virus and keep the application settings

If you want to return to the previous version of the application, you can switch back and keep your settings:

  1. Press Win+E on your keyboard.
  2. Go to the following folder:
    • C:\Program Files\Kaspersky Lab\ Kaspersky Anti 20.0 — for 32-bit operating systems. 
    • C:\Program Files (x86)\Kaspersky Lab\ Kaspersky Anti-Virus 20.0 — for 64-bit operating systems.
  3. Copy the install.cfg.imported file to the Desktop.

  1. Rename the copied file settings.cfg.
  2. Uninstall Kaspersky Anti-Virus. See this article for instructions.
    In the Saving objects window, select the License information checkbox. 
  3. Restart the computer and download the installation file of the previous version from the Kaspersky Lab server.
  4. Run the downloaded installer.
  5. When prompted to search for a new version, click Skip. Complete the installation.

  1. In the main window of Kaspersky Anti-Virus, click The settings icon in the lower-left corner

  1. Click Manage SettingsImport settings.

  1. Choose settings.cfg and click Open.

  1. If the application requests confirmation, click Continue.

  1. Wait until the settings are imported.
  2. In the settings window, go to the Additional section and select Update.

  1. Select Do not download new versions automatically and do not notify me when new versions are available.
