"The selected folder or drive already contains files" error when installing Kaspersky Safe Kids for Windows

During the installation of Kaspersky Safe Kids for Windows, you may get the following error message: "The selected folder or drive already contains files. The application cannot be installed to the folder containing other data, because this data can become unavailable after Self-Defense is enabled".

Cause

The folder with Kaspersky Safe Kids for Windows files already exists on your computer. 

Solution

  1. Delete the Kaspersky Safe Kids folder from:
    • C:\Program Files (x86)\Kaspersky Lab
    • C:\ProgramData\Kaspersky Lab
      If the ProgramData folder is hidden, adjust the settings to make it visible. For instructions, see Microsoft official website.
  2. Run the installation of the application. For instructions, see this article.

What to do if the issue persists
