This article concerns:

  • Kaspersky Security 10.1.2 for Windows Server
  • Kaspersky Security 10.1.1 for Windows Server
  • Kaspersky Security 10.1.0 for Windows Server

Remote administration applications RAdmin and WinVNC are included into the extended set of antivirus databases and therefore Kaspersky Security for Windows Server detects them as not-a-virus. To prevent Kaspersky Security for Windows Server from detecting Radmin and WinVNC, add these applications to exclusions in Real-time file protection, Script monitoring (if necessary), and on-demand-scan tasks.

If you have excluded threat mask not-a-virus:RemoteAdmin* from a scan during Kaspersky Security for Windows Server installation, Real-time file protection, Script monitoring and all on-demand-scan tasks already use this exclusion (except the Scan Quarantine objects and the Integrity Check tasks, because there is no need to exclude remote administration software from them).

To exclude Radmin and WinVNC from the scan:

  1. Open the Kaspersky Security for Windows Server Console.
  2. Right-click the Kaspersky Security node and select Configure Trusted Zone settings.
  3. Go to the Exclusions tab and click Add.

Adding an exclusion in Kaspersky Security for Windows Server

  1. Depending on your requirements, do the following:
    • If you want to exclude all Radmin or WinVNC files regardless of physical location, clear the Object to scan checkbox.
    • If you want to exclude only certain Radmin and/or WinVNC files/folders, click the Edit button, specify desired folders, and click OK.
  2. Select the Objects to detect checkbox and click Edit.
    • To exclude Radmin, enter the not-a-virus:RemoteAdmin.Win32.Radmin* mask.
    • To exclude WinVNC, enter the not-a-virus:RemoteAdmin.Win32.WinVNC* mask.
Never enter the mask *Radmin* because it can exclude really dangerous applications (for example, Backdoor.Win32.Radmin.a).
  1. Click Add, enter the second mask (if necessary), and click ОК.
  2. Depending on your requirements, select the Real-Time File ProtectionScript Monitoring, and On-Demand Scan checkboxes.
  3. Click OK.
