You can activate Kaspersky Security 10.x for Windows Server using a key file during or after the installation.

How to activate during the installation

  • When installing locally. Before the installation, add the key file to the \server folder of the distribution package or specify the path to the key file during the installation.
  • When installing using the command line. Use the LICENSEKEYPATH=<key file name> command in the \server folder of the distribution package.
  • When installing remotely via Kaspersky Security Center. Add the key file to the installation package. For instructions on how to work with installation packages, see Online Help.
  • When installing via a Group Policy. Before installing, add the key file to the distribution package.

How to activate after the installation

  • Remotely via Kaspersky Security Center. For details, see Online Help
  • Locally:
    • Via the application Console. For details, see the Activating the application with a license key section in the Administrator's Guide.
    • Using the command line. For details, see the Activating application KAVSHELL LICENSE section in the Administrator's Guide.
