Normally executed scheduled and full scan tasks use an incremental mechanism.

Incremental scan verifies documents that have been modified since the date of the last scanning (the date of documents on the server in the tab “bases scanned” field “last scheduled scan”).

A scan that has been started manually (using the tel kavkontrol startscanner command, e.g.) is considered critical and scans all files and documents on the server regardless of previous scan instances.

A manual task scan can have a severe impact on server performance.
