How to export update logs to a file in Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2013

To know the cause of problems that occur during Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2013 databases update,  Kaspersky Lab Technical Support may need detailed report of Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2013  update. Results of the update task are logged into the application report. 

In order to get a detailed update report, perform the following actions:

Step 1. Enable logging of non-critical events

In order to register all events of Kaspersky Anti-Virus, perform the following actions:

  1. Open the main application window.
  2. In the right upper corner of the main application window, click Settings.

  1. In the Settings window, go to the Advanced Settings tab and select Reports and Quarantine.
  2. In the right part of the Settings window, check the box Log non-critical events.

  1. Click on the OK button in the Settings window.
  2. Close the main application window.

Step 2. Run databases update

Run databases update task in Kaspersky Anti-Virus .

Step 3. Wait until the process is completed or ends with an error

Step 4. Export the update report to a file

In order to export the report, perform the following actions:

  1. Open the main application window.
  2. In the right upper corner of the main application window, click Report.

  1. At the bottom of the Reports window, click on the Detailed report button.

  1. In the left hand part of the Detailed report window, select Update.
  2. In the left bottom corner of the window, click the Save button.

  1. Select a folder where you want to save the report.
  2. Enter a unique file name.
  3. Click on the Save button.

  1. In the Detailed report window, click the Close button.
  2. In the Reports window, click the Close button.
  3. Close the main application window.

Step 5. Add the created file to the archive

Add the created file to the archive with a unique name (for example, using WinZip).

Step 6. Create a request to Kaspersky Lab Technical Support

Create a request to Kaspersky Lab Technical Support via the  My Kaspersky service. Describe your problem in all details and attach the created report.

Step 7. Disable logging of non-critical events
