Patch A was released on October 9, 2017:
- For 64-bit operating systems: kess2.0_patch_a_(kb13893)_x64.zip.
- For 32-bit operating systems: kess2.0_patch_a_(kb13893)_x86.zip.
The patch fixes the critical vulnerability in the driver.
Fixed vulnerability
Kaspersky Lab fixed the vulnerability in Kaspersky Embedded Systems Security detected by Embedi.
The driver vulnerability, when exploited, allowed execute permissions to be raised to the maximum level for files launched under user accounts that did not have these permissions.
To fix the vulnerability, install patch A.
