We recommend that you take the following measures to mitigate security risks when using Kaspersky CyberTrace:

  • Restrict access to the computer on which Kaspersky CyberTrace is installed.

This will make it more difficult to carry out denial-of-service (DoS) attacks on this computer. For example, you can allow this computer to communicate only with the administrator's computer, the computer that sends events for checking by Kaspersky CyberTrace Service, and the computer that receives check results.

  • Use network security solutions.

If your network is compromised, attackers can reconfigure Kaspersky CyberTrace Service so that it will send check results to some other computer.

  • If the computer designated to receive check results has received no events during the last 24 hours, check whether the Kaspersky CyberTrace Service settings have been changed maliciously.
