Kaspersky Security 9.0 for Microsoft Exchange Servers Maintenance Release 4 was released on February 16, 2017. Full version number is 9.4.189.0. 

New features and improvements

The application now provides the following capabilities:
  • Interaction with Kaspersky Security Center:
    • View information on the protection status of Microsoft Exchange servers (monitoring of the operation of the Anti-Virus, Anti-Spam, and Anti-Phishing modules, connection to the SQL database, and other aspects of the application's operation).
    • View statistics on the application's operation on Microsoft Exchange servers.
    • Distribute update packages for the Anti-Virus, Anti-Spam, and DLP Module databases to protected Microsoft Exchange servers whose network settings block connections to external network resources.
    • Monitor the versions of the Anti-Virus, Anti-Spam, and DLP Module databases to make sure they are up-to-date.
    • Log information about the application's operation to the Kaspersky Security Center Administration Server Event Log.
  • Licensing by subscription.
  • Support for Kaspersky Private Security Network.
  • Attachment filtering for Microsoft Office files that contain macros.
  • On-demand scan for selected mailboxes and public folders.
  • Scan and delete outgoing messages containing spam, phishing or malicious links.
  • Track data leaks based on a new category: "Personal identification (Russia)".
  • Add exclusions from scanning when tracking data leaks.
  • Export the application configuration for Security Servers belonging to a profile with the capability for subsequent import when configuring the application installed on other Microsoft Exchange servers.
  • Monitor the application's operation via System Center - Operations Manager.

Special considerations

  • To perform an on-demand scan of selected mailboxes on Microsoft Exchange 2010 servers, you must grant the Kse Watchdog Service group the right to run under a different name (impersonation). For more information, please refer to the Online Help page.  
  • On-demand scan of selected public folders on Microsoft Exchange 2010 servers is not available.
