On May 22, 2014 Kaspersky Lab announces the commercial release of Kaspersky Anti-Virus 8.0 for Windows Servers Enterprise Edition: Service Pack 1. The full number of the version is 8.0.1.923.

Improvements in Kaspersky Anti-Virus 8.0 for WSEE: SP1:

  • Support has been added for the Windows Server 2012 and Windows Server 2012 R2 operating systems, as well as Resilient File System (ReFS) and Cluster Shared Volumes (CSV). VHD files are not unpacked during scanning of a CSV.
  • New Hyper-V version is supported.
  • Support for Citrix XenApp 6.5 and Citrix XenDesktop 7.0, 7.1, 7.5 has been added.
  • Real-time protection of NetApp storage systems has been added.
  • Stability of the application has been improved based on suggestions and incident information from users.
  • List of exclusions recommended by Microsoft for anti-virus software has been updated.
  • Error involving bloated size of update folders for group update tasks has been resolved.
  • Kaspersky Anti-Virus Console now allows adding a process to Trusted Zone by selecting the process from a list of processes running on the server.
  • Multiple processes can now be selected and removed from Trusted Zone simultaneously.
  • Files can now be restored from Quarantine or Backup to a network folder.
  • It is now possible to not apply Trusted Zone when running a scan task from the command line (by adding the /TZOFF argument to the SCAN command).
  • Kaspersky Anti-Virus can be launched even if a task log is corrupted. The application moves the corrupted file to a special folder and creates a new file to replace the corrupted one. Kaspersky Anti-Virus records information about the detected corruption and restoration of the task log in the system audit log.
  • Superfluous events are no longer recorded in task logs.
  • Display of the task pad for nodes in the MMC console has been corrected.
  • Display of incorrect information in the current action field in the Quarantine of Kaspersky Security Center Administration Server has been fixed.
  • Errors preventing restoration of files from Quarantine and Backup on network storages in Kaspersky Security Center Administration Console have been fixed.
  • Fixed policy error in the Kaspersky Anti-Virus Administration Plug-in for Kaspersky Security Center related to the list of events to be sent to Kaspersky Security Center.
  • In the status for a group task, Kaspersky Security Center Administration Console correctly displays when a task has been stopped due to an error or by user command.
  • When a license will expire soon or an application key is added or removed, this information is sent to Kaspersky Security Center without waiting for Kaspersky Anti-Virus to start again.
