Issue

When starting the Administration Console or when switching between the groups of managed computers, the "MMC cannot initialize the snap-in" error may occur.

The ‘MMC cannot initialize the snap-in’ error.

Cause

This issue is related to how the Management console works.

Solution

The solution described below fixes the error temporarily, therefore it can appear again in the future.
  1. Close Kaspersky Security Center.
  2. Delete the Kaspersky Security Center file with no extension from the folder:
    %AppData%\Microsoft\MMC
  3. If the file is not present in the folder, use the standard search to find it.

Information about client computers, groups, tasks and policies will be saved.

The following console settings will be lost: column display, sorting of strings, and the lists of connected Administration Servers.

What to do if the issue persists
