How to diagnose update issues in Kaspersky Free

If the Kaspersky Free anti-virus databases do not update:

  1. Check that the system date is set up correctly on your computer. See this article for instructions.
  2. Check your Internet connection. For example, try opening the Kaspersky Lab website. If you have no Internet access, contact your Internet service provider for additional information.
  3. Reset Internet Explorer settings. See the Microsoft support website for instructions.
  4. Check the availability of Kaspersky Lab update servers. To do this, click any of the links in server address list. If the server page loads successfully, then the Kaspersky Lab servers are available.
  5. If you have a third-party Firewall or other incompatible anti-virus applications installed on your computer, remove them manually.
