In order to troubleshoot any issues that may occur when using Kaspersky Password Manager 9 for Windows, Kaspersky Lab technical support specialists might request reports on the activity of the application’s components. These are called trace files.

To generate Kaspersky Password Manager for Windows trace files

  1. Open Kaspersky Password Manager for Windows and enter the master password. If you have any difficulties opening the application, see this guide.
  2. Click Settings button on the left.
  3. Go to the Advanced section and select the Log application events checkbox.

Enabling application event logging

  1. Reproduce the error.
  2. Disable tracing. To do so, clear the Log application events checkbox.
  3. Adjust the settings in File Explorer to display hidden items. If you are not sure how to do so, see this guide.
  4. Go to the folder C:\ProgramData\Kaspersky Lab\Kaspersky Password Manager\Logs.
Trace files are saved to this folder by default.

Location of trace files on the PC

The trace file has been created. Send a request to Kaspersky Lab technical support via the My Kaspersky portal. Attach the trace file to your request.
For instructions on how to use My Kaspersky, see the Online Help page.
