Gaining temporary access to device

When a device is connected, and access to that device is denied by Device Control, a window with a message about blocked access to the device is displayed.

You can request temporary access to a blocked device from your organization's local network administrator using the graphical interface:

To request temporary access to a blocked device:

  1. Open the main window of the application graphical interface.
  2. In the lower part of the main window, click the Temporary access button.

This opens the Temporary access window.

You can also open the Temporary access window from the window with the message about blocked access to the device by clicking OK.

  3. In the Access request to the blocked device section, in the list of connected devices, select the device to which you want to gain access.
  4. In the Device access duration (hours) field, specify the time period for which you want to gain access to the device (in hours).
  5. Click the Create request access file button.
  6. In the opened window, specify the path to the directory in which you want to save the access request file with the .akey extension.
  7. Send the access request file to the administrator, for example, by email or in any available way (the administrator can configure this in the block message template).

After getting the access key from the administrator, you can upload the access key to gain temporary access to the blocked device.

To get temporary access to a blocked device:

  1. Open the main window of the application graphical interface.
  2. In the lower part of the main window, click the Temporary access button.

This opens the Temporary access window.

  3. In the Gaining access to device section, click the Upload access key button.
  4. In the opened window, select the file with the device access key (file with the .acode extension) received from the administrator of the organization's local network.
  5. A window is displayed with information about the device to which access has been granted and the access duration.
  6. Click OK.
