Shared protection
This Help section provides information about using shared protection on My Kaspersky.
About Shared Protection package
Kaspersky product with Shared protection package allows the subscription owner to share protection with other users and remotely manage their security.
Users who accepted the invitation to share protection can use the applications included in the package for free.
The subscription owner can manage the security of other's devices from his or her account on My Kaspersky. For example, the subscription owner can view information about the security status of the devices, remotely start a scan on the devices, renew the subscription. Summarized information about the security of devices with shared protection is displayed in the Overview section.
The subscription owner does not have access to bank cards or other private data of users, with whom he or she have shared subscription. The subscription owner may receive notifications if a child used one of the devices with the shared subscription, so they can try the Kaspersky Safe Kids solution for protecting children.

If you purchased Kaspersky product with Shared protection package, you can share protection with other users.
To share protection:
- Go to the Subscriptions tab.
- In the product subscription panel, click the Users button.
- Click Share protection.
- Click Continue.
- Enter the email address and name of the recipient.
The name will be used in an invitation that will be sent by email.
- If you want to send another invitation, click the Add a recipient link and enter an email address and a recipient name.
- Click Continue.
- Enter or edit a sender name.
The sender name will be used in the invitation so that another user knows who sent the invitation.
- Click Send.
This sends an invitation to use the protection you purchased and download a personal installation package.
If a user does not have an account on My Kaspersky, it will be created for the user automatically when the user accepts the invitation to share protection. You will be able to monitor the security of other users devices after they accept the invitation and install the application.
The maximum number of accounts connected to the subscription owner's account (even if multiple subscriptions purchased) is 50.
How to cancel the invitation to share protection
You can cancel the invitation before the user accepts it. If the user has already accepted the invitation, you can revoke the subscription from the user.
To cancel the invitation:
- Go to the Subscriptions tab.
- In the product subscription panel, click the Users button.
- Click the button with the name of the user for whom you want to cancel the invitation.
A window with user information opens.
- Click the Cancel invitation link.
The confirmation dialog opens.
- Confirm the operation.
The invitation is canceled. The user will not be able to use protection under shared subscription. You will be able to resend the sharing invitation to the user.
How to revoke the subscription from a user
If you revoke the subscription from a user, you will not be able to remotely manage the security of the user's devices.
To revoke the subscription from a user:
- Go to the Subscriptions tab.
- In the product subscription panel, click the Users button.
- Click the user from whom you want to revoke the subscription.
- Click the Revoke link.
- Confirm the action.
The subscription revocation process is started. This process may take a long time (up to 24 hours).
You will be able to resend the sharing invitation to the user.

If you revoke the subscription from a device, you will not be able to remotely manage its security.
To revoke the subscription from a device:
- Go to the Subscriptions tab.
- Select the subscription you need and click to drop down the subscription panel.
- Click the device you want to revoke the subscription from in the My devices section.
- Drop down the Installed apps panel to expand the list of apps installed on the device.
- Click the trash bin (
) icon for the product for which you want to revoke the subscription.
- The Disconnect from account form opens. Click OK to revoke the subscription from the device and disconnect the installed app from your account.
The process of revoking the subscription begins. This process may take up to 24 hours.

After reaching the limit on the number of users of a shared subscription for Kaspersky Password Manager, the subscription owner can allow or forbid a specific user to use the subscription for Kaspersky Password Manager.
To allow or forbid the use of a shared subscription for Kaspersky Password Manager:
- Go to the Subscriptions tab.
- In the product subscription panel, click the Users button.
- Click the button with the name of the user for whom you want to allow or forbid the use of the subscription.
A window with user information opens.
- In the Apps section, next to Kaspersky Password Manager:
- If you want to allow the use of the subscription, select Share subscription.
- If you want to forbid the use of the subscription, select Switch to free version.
Use of the shared subscription for Kaspersky Password Manager is allowed or forbidden for the user according to your selection.

An owner of the subscription can send you an invitation to share protection and remotely manage the security of your devices. You will be able to use product under shared subscription for free. The subscription owner will not have access to your private data, such as your bank card details or passwords.
You will need an account on My Kaspersky to use the shared protection. If you do not have an account, you will be automatically prompted to create one when you accept the invitation.
To start using shared protection:
- Open the invitation email from the subscription owner.
- Click the button to accept the invitation.
- Sign in to My Kaspersky or create an account.
- Download and install the shared protection from your account.
Before you start using shared protection, we need your consent to process information about your devices in accordance with the supplemental Statement on Data Processing.
How to decline use of shared protection
If you decline to use shared protection, the owner of the subscription will not be able to remotely manage the security of your devices.
To reject using shared protection:
- Go to the Subscriptions tab.
In the product subscription panel, click the Details link.
- In the lower part of the opened window, click the Decline link.
- Confirm the action, if required.
If you change your mind, you can ask the subscription owner to resend the invitation.

- Go to the Subscriptions tab.
- In the product subscription panel, click the Users button.
- Select the user whose information you want to view.
The User details window opens.
