Importing data from a vault

Kaspersky Password Manager allows you to import data into the vault:

If you used versions of Kaspersky Password Manager that do not support updates, you can migrate your data into a new version of the application with the help of the import function. You must export the vault to a file, then import it into the new version of Kaspersky Password Manager. You can import data files in the PWS, SPDB and PDB formats into Kaspersky Password Manager. Unsanctioned access to the data file contents is protected by a master password. Access to data file contents is only granted by the Kaspersky Password Manager.

To import data from a vault created in previous versions of Kaspersky Password Manager or from a vault backup copy, perform the following steps:

  1. Open the main application window.
  2. In the lower part of the window, click the button.
  3. In the application tray menu, select the Settings item.

    The application settings window opens.

  4. In the left part of the window, select the Data Import/Export section.
  5. In the Import from vault section, click the Import button.
  6. In the window that opens, specify the file you want to import your data from.
  7. Click the Open button.
  8. In the window that opens, enter the master password to access the contents of the imported file.
  9. Click OK.

Data from the selected file will be copied into the current vault. Once the import is complete, the application will display a window containing a report on the number of imported entries.

  10. Click the Continue button to exit the report window.
